Government recruiting Executive Director for Martyn’s Law
The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is actively recruiting for an Executive Director for Martyn’s Law, tasked with establishing and mobilizing the SIA’s functions related to the forthcoming Martyn’s Law legislation by 2027.
This high-profile position will be instrumental in elevating protective security and preparedness standards across the United Kingdom.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the successful candidate will join the SIA’s executive leadership team and board, providing strategic direction for the operational regulatory work and the teams responsible for delivering these new statutory functions.
The Executive Director will serve as the lead responsible Director and Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) for the SIA’s Martyn’s Law Delivery Programme. This programme’s primary objective is to implement the SIA’s plans for taking on the additional responsibilities mandated by Martyn’s Law, with operations commencing in 2027.
In the initial phases, the focus will be on building a dedicated setup team and mobilizing the delivery efforts. As SRO, accountability for meeting delivery outcomes on time will rest with this role, emphasizing the need for strong planning, change management, and the cultivation of robust strategic partnerships both internally and externally. Close collaboration with the SIA’s Chief Operating Officer will be essential to ensure efficient corporate support services.
Furthermore, the new Director will work collegially with other SIA Directors, particularly those leading existing private security regulation, to establish proposed shared services for intelligence and the triaging of incoming reports and concerns, covering both private security and Martyn’s Law regulatory areas.
