TfL said the changes are in response to the Department for Transport's Statutory Taxi and PHV Standards to
enhance passenger safety.

TfL said:

"Last year we set out changes to taxi and private hire licensing requirements - in TPH Notice 07/23 - that will
be coming into force from 1 July 2024.

"To help drivers, vehicle owners and operators better understand the requirements that apply, we have
published the following guidance on our website."
