The Local Government Association has produced a list of frequently asked questions for the Tobacco and Vapes Bill.
The FAQ list currently includes:
- What do we know about the new licensing scheme?
- Will there be further consultation?
- What do we know so far about premises licences and personal licences?
- What products will be covered by this new licensing scheme?
- How will retailers be able to apply for a tobacco licence?
- When will the new licensing scheme commence?
- If a retailer currently sells tobacco products and vapes, will they be able to obtain the required licences under the new system?
- Will there be a fee to apply for a licence?
- Will the licences have conditions attached to them?
- How long will the licences last?
- Will there be the possibility of Review and Appeal?
- Will there be financial penalties in relation to the licensing scheme?
- Will there be a requirement for training or DBS checks for personal licence holders?
- Have other countries introduced a tobacco licensing scheme?
