SIA issues new communications resources as organisations prepare for Martyn’s Law

The Security Industry Authority (SIA) has released a suite of new communications materials to support organisations as preparations for Martyn’s Law continue to build ahead of commencement in 2027.

A communications toolkit, published today, brings together suggested copy, key messages and creative assets that organisations can use to share information about Martyn’s Law across their own networks. The toolkit is designed to help premises and event organisers raise awareness, explain upcoming duties and signpost authoritative guidance. It will be updated regularly as further materials are developed.

The SIA has also issued the first edition of its Martyn’s Law newsletter, published yesterday. The newsletter provides updates on regulatory development, opportunities to volunteer, and ways to stay informed as the regime takes shape. Organisations can register to receive future editions directly, and those who missed the first issue can request a copy. 

In addition, the SIA and the Home Office have worked together to produce a new frequently asked questions page, hosted on ProtectUK. The FAQs offer clear, accessible explanations for anyone unsure about what Martyn’s Law means for them, including scope, duties and practical steps for preparation. 

Together, these resources form part of the wider programme of engagement to help organisations understand their responsibilities, access reliable guidance and prepare effectively for the new protective security duties.
