New NR3S Guidance
New guidance has been published for users of the National Register of Refusals, Revocations and Suspensions (NR3S), providing updated direction on how licensing authorities should manage and apply the register as part of their statutory duties.
The guidance outlines the purpose of NR3S, clarifies key responsibilities for licensing teams, and includes a practical checklist designed to support consistent and informed decision‑making across authorities.
The NR3S Working Group has reviewed the updated material. As the guidance references both the NR3S Law Enforcement Request Process and the associated Request Template, these documents have been re‑circulated to all nominated NR3S Single Points of Contact (SPoCs). Authorities were also asked to confirm that their SPoC contact details remain accurate, ensuring that requests are managed efficiently and in line with legal requirements.
Licensing authorities are being reminded of the importance of knowing who their designated NR3S SPoC is, as this role is central to handling information requests and ensuring compliance with the correct procedures.
