Licensing SAVI to close after five years of operation
Licensing SAVI, the national police‑supported safety and security initiative for licensed premises, will close on 30 April 2026, bringing an end to its five‑year run helping venues strengthen safety standards across England and Wales.
The scheme — developed with the Home Office and endorsed by the National Police Chiefs’ Council — has provided thousands of pubs, bars and clubs with practical guidance on reducing vulnerability, improving security and meeting responsible authority expectations.
Current accreditations will remain valid until each venue’s one‑year term expires, but no new applications or renewals will be accepted. Venues seeking support are being directed to local Police Alcohol Licensing Officers or local authority licensing teams as the service winds down.
