Illegal machines in pubs – joint working with HMRC, Licensing Authorities and Gambling Commission
Licensing Enforcement Officers from Sandwell Council in the West Midlands have been working closely with HMRC Compliance Officers and the Gambling Commission, sharing information regarding compliance with Machine Games Duty and Gaming Machine Notifications/Permits in Alcohol Licenced Premises.
A number of analogue card game-style machines which are not categorised and can’t be made available for use have been identified which has led to intelligence being sent to the Gambling Commission.
So far, 26 Alcohol Licenced Premises have been brought into compliance with Machine Games Duty and Notifications/Alcohol Licensed Premises Gaming Machine Permits.
