Refreshed ACT Awareness e-Learning launched to strengthen counter-terrorism awareness
The updated training has been designed to raise awareness of the threat from terrorism and empower people to recognise and report suspicious activity that could help prevent harm.
ACT Awareness (Action Counters Terrorism) is a nationally recognised programme that encourages everyone to play a role in protecting their workplace, colleagues, customers and communities. The refreshed e-Learning package offers an engaging and accessible learning experience, featuring updated content, practical scenarios and the latest guidance on recognising behaviours and activities that may be linked to terrorism.
The training highlights how vigilance and timely reporting can make a significant difference. Participants will learn about current terrorist methodologies, how to identify potential indicators of hostile reconnaissance or suspicious behaviour, and the appropriate steps to take when concerns arise.
The e-Learning is suitable for staff across all sectors and is particularly valuable for those working in public-facing environments, crowded places, events, retail, hospitality, transport, education and healthcare settings.
By completing the course, learners will:
Gain a better understanding of the current terrorism threat landscape.
Recognise potential signs of suspicious activity.
Understand how to respond appropriately and safely.
Learn how and where to report concerns.
Contribute to creating safer environments for colleagues, customers and the public.
The refreshed ACT Awareness e-Learning forms part of a wider commitment to enhancing protective security and preparedness across organisations and communities. It reinforces the message that safeguarding against terrorism is a shared responsibility and that everyone has a role to play.
