Co-op Live, in Manchester, will become the UK’s largest live entertainment arena when it opens its doors on 23 April. The world-class, 23,500-capacity venue is located opposite Manchester City\u2019s stadium, on the Etihad Campus. The new venue is a joint venture between Oak View Group and City Football Group.<\/p>\n
At a hearing on 21 and 22 February 2024, Manchester\u2019s Licensing Sub-Committee considered a contested application for a premises licence for the new \u00a3365m 23,500 capacity Co-op Live Arena located in the Etihad Campus.<\/p>\n
1 March it was announced by Manchester City Council\u2019s Licensing Authority that Co-op Live\u2019s Premises Licence was granted allowing Regulated Entertainment of all descriptions; the Sale of Alcohol and Late Night Refreshment to take place in the venue \u2013 giving the \u2018green light\u2019 to it opening in April.<\/p>\n
Three members of Francis Taylor Building chambers are instructed in the case and appeared at the hearings. Jeremy Phillips KC acted for the applicant, Co-op Live, instructed by Blandy & Blandy, Gary Grant acted for an objector, ASM Global who operate Manchester\u2019s existing AO Arena, instructed by Thomas & Thomas and Leo Charalambides acted as Legal Adviser to the Licensing Sub-Committee.<\/p>\n
