Gambling Commission instructs tighter measures to protect consumers during lockdown Published Date: 20/05/2020

The Gambling Commission has issued new customer interaction guidance for remote operators to interact with consumers at risk of harm.

The new guidance supplements the existing customer interaction guidance, and ensures that consumers are further protected following the publication of operator and consumer tracker data which shows some gamblers may be at greater risk of harm during lockdown.

Included in the guidance is the need for affordability checks, prevention of reverse withdrawals and restrictions on bonus offers.
