The Gambling Commission has issued a series of regulatory updates, including two licence suspensions, financial penalties for multiple operators and reminders on compliance obligations.

BresBet Ltd, which operates bresbet.com, and Bet St George Ltd, the business behind betstgeorge.com, have had their operating licences suspended following enquiries that uncovered suspected social responsibility and anti‑money laundering failings. Both suspensions take immediate effect while investigations continue.

QuinnBet (Gibraltar) Limited will pay £609,104 after a Commission review identified anti‑money laundering and social responsibility shortcomings. The operator, which runs quinnbet.com, agreed the payment as part of a regulatory settlement.

Holland Park Leisure Limited, an Adult Gaming Centre operator with three venues in Leicester, has been fined £150,000 for breaching a self‑exclusion requirement designed to reduce gambling harm. The business must also undergo an independent audit of its policies, controls and staff training.

The Commission has reminded operators offering betting by telephone or email that they must participate in the GAMSTOP Online multi‑operator self‑exclusion scheme. The requirement applies not only to traditional calls and emails but also to SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook Messenger, Instagram Direct and other instant messaging channels.

Industry stakeholders are again invited to submit proposals to reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens while maintaining consumer protection. Submissions are open until the end of September.

Separately, the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport has launched a consultation on banning unlicensed gambling operators from entering sponsorship or advertising arrangements across all sectors, including sport. The consultation closes on 9 September 2026.
