Gambling Business Group’s High Street Hub in Partnership with the Institute of Licensing
What is ARE?
The ARE Expo is a new event by a company that has a background in running successful gambling focused shows. The event will encompass both high street gambling and competitive socialising manufacturers and operators (indoor golf/cricket etc)
Whilst the exhibitor names may not be familiar to Licensing Officers, they are the manufacturers of gaming machines and associated technology which officers see in land-based gambling premises – and some of the exhibitors also run gambling premises.

Last year at the ICE Expo in London:
“I brought my Team of Licensing Enforcement Officers to the ICE Exhibition last year at the ExCel Centre. Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to attend in Barcelona this year!
“It was great to see that the IoL had a stand there, as an organisation we need to forge closer relationships directly with the gambling trade, which this event allowed to happen. The exhibition took up a huge chunk of the Excel Centre with company representatives from all types of gaming and betting, and from within the casino industry. It was both educational and a good opportunity for networking.
“My Team also found it incredibly useful to attend as not only did they meet these companies face-to-face, but also got to look at the gaming machines of the present and (more excitingly) the future. After all, they’re the ones that’ll be out inspecting them in the coming years. I also think that as a non-gambler, I personally find it hard to get into the mindset of those that do. This exhibition assisted greatly in that.”
