Councils invited to join deep dive sessions on regulatory burdens
The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) is inviting council officers to attend Local Authority Regulatory Deep Dive meetings this November.
The sessions will explore ways to reduce centrally led regulatory burdens on councils and local businesses. Topics will include provision of services regulations, licensing proposals, Trading Standards enforcement and inconsistencies in regulatory implementation.
Meetings will take place in-person in:
· Bristol – 6 Nov, 3:30–4:30pm · Newcastle – 11 Nov, 4–5pm · Manchester – 13 Nov, 3:30–4:30pm · Birmingham – 20 Nov, 3–4pm · London – 24 Nov, 3:30–4:30pm · Leeds – 26 Nov, 4–5pm |
DBT will seek to gather views from attendees and help shape its evidence base towards its reporting. Input from councils is vital to identify key challenges and inform policy solutions.
