We have two opportunities for Senior Licensing Enforcement Officers to join our busy Licensing Team in Safer Communities (Regulation and Enforcement).

As a Senior Licensing Officer you will be joining us at an exciting time. You will be given the unique opportunity to work across our socially and economically diverse Borough, as we continue to develop and deliver a first class service across the full range of licensing regimes, including taxis, Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, Animal licensing and street trading. You will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other teams within the Council as well as external partners.

To be successful in this role you will hold a relevant licensing/regulatory qualification, or be able to demonstrate significant experience and knowledge to enable you to carry out the duties of the role. With highly effective communication and investigative skills, you will be experienced in providing advice and guidance on regulatory and/or enforcement issues as well as have proven knowledge of legal processes and effective evidence gathering.  This is a busy team so you will need the ability to balance competing demands and prioritise tasks, working to deadlines.

You will be required to work flexibly including some evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the service.

In return we offer:

  • A friendly, supportive and inclusive working environment.
  • A range of flexible working options.
  • Generous annual leave entitlements with the opportunity to purchase up to 10-days additional leave per year.
  • A flexitime scheme with up to 24 days per year.
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme – a 24 hour independent, free and confidential advice and support service.
  • Family and carer friendly policies.
