Opportunity with South East Council Closing Date: 13/11/2020

A council in the South East regionare looking for some support for a few months from a person with Local Authority Licensing and Public Health experience to support the work around Covid 19 risks at events.

The work will involve  initially to assess and further improve the existing Red, Amber Green Risk Rating matrix for events that the Council become aware of. The aim is to introduce standardisation and transparency around decision making about how to categorise the events using standard criteria and when events should be escalated beyond Local Authorities to the Public Health team for potential Directions to be issued.

The intention is to achieve

    • A system of RAG rating that means that green events are fine, amber events are split into ‘watch and wait’ and ‘causing concern’ (i.e. may need a direction) and red (require direction / potential direction).
    • A flow chart  to assist decisions around what constitutes the above, and what PH will do as a result – including an escalation process. A form of triaging of events.
    • A means of gathering relevant evidence for those ‘causing concern’ / requiring a potential directions to inform the direction if this is later required.

These are the priorities but other work around developing standard processes or a protocol between the county and the districts  to manage these/provide assurance or escalation as appropriate.

Other support required is around engaging with our economic development / BID partners/Parishes to understand potential events or plans which may not currently be putting in place the Covid-secure precautions currently required.

Targeting Comms effectively – so some of this is an initial intelligence gathering exercise around plans and processes in place across different districts.
