Licensing Officer

We are looking for an experienced licensing officer who can support the council's administration and enforcement of all its relevant licensing functions including validating, processing and making decisions on licensing applications and where appropriate undertake consultation or mediation. The right person will work to ensure that all applications are determined within any prescribed statutory time periods and ensure that senior management and relevant officers are properly advised well in advance, of any applications which may not be properly determined within such time restrictions.

To be successful you will ideally need:

  • Qualification in Licensing (or working towards a qualification)
  • Recent experience as a licensing officer or similar public protection service
  • Familiarity with Idox Uniform and associated products.
  • Experience of managing and prioritising a varied workload
  • Ability to interpret and implement licensing policy rules and procedures and new systems
  • Ability to work effectively with limited supervision
