Salary- £58,170 to £66,400 per annum (inclusive of all Allowances) depending on experience.


The City of London is the Licensing Authority for the Square Mile for the supply of alcohol, gambling, tables and chairs, street trading, massage & special treatments and charity collections.

With over 950 premises licences and a growing night time economy this role is pivotal in supporting the growth of the hospitality sector and other licenced trades whilst ensuring the City is safe and our communities feel safe. The team actively support businesses, protects consumers and deals robustly at pace with those who break the law.

You will lead an extremely effective team and be the lead licensing expert responsible for the administration and operation of the licensing regime including the Code of Good Practice, Premises Risk Scheme and run the Late Night Levy.

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced and motivated individual to lead the City of London Licensing Team. As well as being organised and highly efficient the successful candidate will have the ability to form strong and effective partnerships across the responsible authorities, partner agencies, City communities, the trade and our elected members.

You will be expected to demonstrate your leadership and management skills, be an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, you will be IT literate with working knowledge of MS Office Suite and case management software. The ability to work to very strict deadlines is an essential quality.
