Events Coordinator - Institute of Licensing (Part Time) (Fixed term contract) Closing Date: 12/06/2020

POST: Events Coordinator

SALARY: £25,000 per annum pro-rata (£15,000)

CONTRACT TYPE: 12 months fixed term with potential for extension or consideration for consultant/ contract/temporary basis

HOURS: 22.2 hours per week (working days to be discussed)

LOCATION: The post holder will be expected to work from their home or business premises

REPORTING TO: The Executive Officer or in her absence, a designated Board member

CLOSING DATE: 12th June 2020

 

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the role is to work within the team arranging and facilitating IoL training and events, planning training courses, events both online and at venues, sourcing the best trainer(s), finding appropriate venues, promoting courses and ensuring the events run well and that that the aims and objectives of the course are met.

The ideal candidate must have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate the ability to negotiate and consult with a wide range of people both inside and outside the organisation, along with a proven track record of working in and forging partnerships with a wide range of internal and external bodies.  

OBJECTIVES

  • To be the lead officer for organisation and delivery of the annual programme of training and events nationally and regionally across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
  • Be confident with online training platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Ensure training delivery in accordance with syllabus and full achievement of learning outcomes where applicable.
  • To ensure all courses are subject to appropriate quality control procedures, including assessment of trainers and training delivery.
  • To be the lead officer for event promotion via all channels including social media.
  • Travel to attend events/client meetings when required.
  • Preparation and presentation of board reports as required.
  • Attend internal Board, Regional and appropriate committee meetings when required.
  • Promotion and marketing of the IoL charity and events company.
  • Identify opportunities for additional sources of resource through event sponsorship, membership benefits and advertising.
  • Work with the appropriate designated officer when needed on examination procedures and protocols, ensure that procedures and protocols are followed and examinations are appropriately assessed, providing results and appropriate certification to candidates accordingly.
  • Work with the appropriate designated officer as required to develop course structures, content and procedures for appropriate courses.
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested.
