Wokingham has a clear ambition that services should be locally focused and responsive to the needs of residents and business. To deliver this we are bringing environmental health and licensing functions back in-house from 1 April 2022.

We are looking to recruit progressive and experienced Service Managers to oversee our in-house teams with the following specialisms:

  • Commercial (Food hygiene, H&S, communicable diseases)
  • Residential & Environmental (Private Housing, caravan sites, private water supplies, contaminated land, integrated pollution control)
  • Licensing & Processing (licensing, safety advisory group operations, supporting our service-wide IT system and processing of applications for all licenses, permits and approvals service-wide)

Reporting to the Head of Service, you will be our subject matter expert and pivotal in building, driving, leading and managing the new team. What’s more, you’ll play an integral role in delivering our local agenda and operational collaboration with partners. Political awareness and a collaborative approach will be essential. You will have a proven track record of achievement in problem solving, achieving compliance and customer satisfaction, excellent people management experience and communication skills.
