Your Role

Working as part of a small specialist team we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic person to assist with the day-to-day work of the Licensing Team at North Herts Council   

It will involve having responsibility for various aspects of licensing and duties will include dealing with the initial applications, the preparation of licences and permissions, provision of advice and guidance, report writing, the inspection of licensed premises, investigation of complaints and formal enforcement action. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Ideally have previous experience of the local authority licensing functions, particularly in regard to the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005 and hackney carriage and private hire licensing or an understanding of local government licensing with experience of a similar regulatory function.   
  • Have the ability to prioritise, plan and manage their time effectively, demonstrating the ability to meet demanding deadlines.
  • Have experience of communicating verbally and in writing with a wide range of audiences.

The successful candidate will be offered continuous development opportunities and be required to undertake a professional licensing qualification.
