Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council is a busy unitary authority in east Lancashire. Blackburn and Darwen are vibrant towns surrounded by beautiful countryside and within easy reach of Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and Preston, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.
The Council has been a unitary authority for over 20 years and has a multi-disciplinary Public Protection and Environmental Health Service, which is known for its can-do attitude and problem-solving approach to enforcement.
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and enthusiastic Senior Public Protection Officer to play a key role in our Licensing Team. The team deals with most aspects of licensing within the Borough, including Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, hackney carriage and private hire, animal welfare and street trading.
The ideal candidate will have an extensive knowledge of all aspects of licensing, experience of working with the taxi/private hire and licensed premises and have excellent stakeholder engagement skills. In return we can offer a friendly working environment and our commitment to a great work-life balance.
