Mr Asmeron Kiflay GHAYM was successfully prosecuted at Oxford Magistrates Court on 30^th June 2023 for driving a Private Hire Vehicle without a licence and without valid insurance in November 2022.

Oxford City Council Licensing was notified by the testing station that between the Private Hire Vehicle being suspended by them on 8^th November 2023 and the subsequent retest on 7^th December 2022 that the vehicle had travelled 1000 miles. Upon investigation, Mr GHAYM had used the vehicle for Private Hire purposes between 8^th and 10^th November 2022.

Mr GHAYM pleaded guilty to the following offences on 30^th June 2023:

• Driving Private Hire Vehicle without a current licence and was fined £140.00
• Knowingly using Private Hire Vehicle without a valid policy of insurance and received 8 points on his DVLA licence and fined £120.00
• With a victim surcharge of £104.00 and costs of £85.00
